Title: Basic UNIX 4 - Linux for Windows Users Length: 80 minutes Description: Linux is the most popular open source operating system currently available. This course is an introduction to working in Linux for people currently using Microsoft Windows. Standard procedures for working on the Gnome and KDE desktops will be discussed, with the differences between them and Windows highlighted. We'll also look at locating and installing applications (with an emphasis on Windows compatibility) and sources of help and technical support. Familiarity with Microsoft Windows is a prerequisite for this course.
